Extended University Administrative Support Assistant I Intermittent/Temporary Position.
Up to 20 Hours per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Responsible for a range of administrative and office support for students, staff, and other scheduled activities for CSU Channel Islands International Programs.
Serves as support for recruitment and admissions/records based on needs of the department.
Assists with outreach to students and updating systems (PeopleSoft, Web Admit, Airtable) with accurate data.
Provides current and accurate information to international students and verifies official documents.
Relays timely and accurate information to the Assistant Director of International Programs as necessary.
Provides excellent customer service to prospective students and current international students as well as instructors and staff.
Provides support to programs and staff as directed.
Makes phone calls and emails to support international programs.
Performs other duties assigned REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:
Equivalent to a high school diploma or one year of experience in office setting.
Must possess a high degree of initiative and responsibility.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, strong written and oral communication skills, and an ability to understand standard office procedures in an office setting are required.
Must be skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and able to learn new office technologies.
Ability to prioritize workload and work independently.
Flexibility required, with a willingness and ability to tolerate an evolving set of responsibilities in a growing organization.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU.
Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who apply for the position.
The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 Revised July 21, 2017 as a condition of employment.
