It's an exciting time to join our clubs and we are currently seeking a Director of Tennis to join our team at Spanish Hills Club! How You Will Make a Difference The Director of Tennis is accountable for maximizing Member satisfaction, exceeding the financial plan, and providing leadership for the Tennis department.
They prepare an annual budget and achieves these financial goals throughout the year through proper forecasting, cost controls and labor management.
How you will do it Technical Knowledge Plans and directs instructional programs.
Provides lessons and clinics for members and guests relating to the techniques and strategies of tennis.
Organizes, administers, and officiates at tournaments, exhibitions, and inter- and intra-club social events.
Administers and enforces club tennis policies and procedures regarding play on club courts.
Selects, trains, supervises, schedules, and evaluates the assistant tennis professional and other tennis staff.
Ensures that all employees consistently comply with the club's employee handbook and with all applicable federal and state employment laws.
Strings rackets and perform other light equipment repairs.
Purchases and maintains adequate beverage inventory.
Sells beverages to members and guests.
Transfers all charges from the tennis shop to the accounting department.
Coordinates maintenance, repair, and cleaning of courts with grounds and maintenance departments.
Manages the tennis shop.
Maintains a close working relationship with other club professionals.
Maintains an accurate record of all lessons and clinics given; provides written reports monthly.
Inspects and maintains all physical areas constantly.
Assists food and beverage director, chef, banquet, and catering manager to coordinate food and beverage service support for tennis events.
Is visibly present on the courts during peak periods of play.
Attending all staff, management, and other applicable meetings.
Execution-Relations & Retention Ensures that all club members and guests receive courteous, prompt, and professional attention to all their tennis needs.
Participates on all committees related to the tennis operation.
Assists in the coordination and development of the social activities and social calendar for the club.
Assists in the coordination of all club public relations efforts, members' newsletters, news and media events and club brochures.
Is present during club operating hours and events to assist in meeting and greeting members and guests.
Effectively responds to member relations comments & questions in accordance with club standards, policies, and rules and in a friendly manner; uses ideas, feedback, and suggestions to continuously improve the services provided to members.
Marketing/Business Planning Markets tennis facilities to members and guests.
Develops a detailed annual calendar of tennis activities and applicable promotion campaigns during the tennis season.
Establishes and implements an accurate inventory control system and reports results accordingly.
Develops the budget for the tennis profit center; takes corrective action as necessary to help ensure that budget goals are met.
Works with the General Manager and Management Team to determine operations on pricing, offerings, programming, marketing, communication, and value-added benefits.
Promotes club activities using table tents, newsletters, direct mail flyers, electronic communications, and other means.
Plans and develops training programs and professional development opportunities for himself or herself and all other subordinates.
Serves as manager on duty as scheduled.
Community Relations Represents the club in the area of professional tennis activities and at state or national tennis events with approval from the club.
Maintains active involvement in community and industry organizations; regularly attends and actively participates in meaningful networking events.
Establishes communication with competitive set and establishes relationships and partnerships within the community.
Participates in industry activities, community activities, employee activities and customer events as deemed necessary and appropriate by Management.
Networks with members, guests, and the community to maximize leads and referrals, maintaining relationships with previous event hosts and Members.
The Director of Tennis will be required to execute other duties not listed above as assigned by the Camaraderie Clubs and/or the General Manager.

Qualifications:

Excellent communication, customer service and leadership skills.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
).
Knowledge of ClubEssential preferred.
Knowledge of tennis required.
Four-year college degree preferred.
Related experience in a commissioned sales position(s) within the tennis, hospitality, and/or service industries; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
