Spanish Hills Club and The Huntington Club.

It's an exciting time to join our clubs and we are currently seeking a Sommelier to join our team at Spanish Hills Club.
Qualifications Sommelier Level 1 or great or WSET Level 1 or greater certifications are required.
Previous experience as a sommelier or wine steward.
Strong interpersonal and sales skills Good verbal and written communication skills Willingness to work outside regular business hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Adherence to alcohol handing laws and regulations Interest in continuing education Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Responsibilities Creating and updating wine lists with the chefs and manager reporting directly to VP of Operations/General Manager.
Conducts daily shift meetings in the absence of the Food and Beverage Manger.
Monitors team members for quality service standards, service delivery standards, level of professionalism, personal appearance and adherence to proper procedures standardized by management.
Oversees the assignment of team member sections and ensures that all sections are sufficiently covered; enforces a daily rotation including breaks making sure to always maintain adequate coverage on the floor.
Promotes and provides exemplary food service to guests using proper serving techniques according to Department policies and procedures.
Provides training to team members on departmental policies and procedures as well as, the necessary training on Point-of-Sale system to familiarize with the fundamentals of the system.
Cleans, organizes, and prepares immediate workspace and adjacent areas before, during and after the shift.
Enforces all Health Department safety, health, and security rules, and ensures exceptional customer service standards are being consistently being met Immediately informs Supervisor of all safety, security, customer, or employee concerns or incidents.
Monitors and maintains the cleanliness of facility and confirms that all appropriate side work duties are being performed.
Responsible for all opening and closing procedures on any given shift.
Drive sales at all times, keeping in mind the taste preference and budget parameters of the Guest, using suggestive selling techniques.
Visit table, take wine order, confirm during order-taking and upon presentation of wine, serve wine in an expert manner including proper pouring and decanting technique.
On a shift-by-shift basis, build SevenRooms Guest notes database to build history of Guest to better serve/sell to the Guest.
Manage the evening's inventory of wine (restocking as needed) Follow wine service standards for ringing in and tracking orders.
Maintain wine stock in service areas so wine can be served quickly to Guest.
Maintain neat and organized condition of all wine storage areas.
Maintain Wine Bible with one-page sheets for all current (and past) wines on wine list.
Ensure that any Guest that is not 100% satisfied with our product or service is attended to immediately, and a manager is informed.
Ensure that restaurant wine glassware and decanters are at par, available, and clean.
Assist with inventories as directed by manager.
Assist with wine ordering as directed by manager.
Assist with all other service to Guests as needed:
Hosting, Bussing, Running Food/Drinks, taking orders, etc.
Actively participate ongoing team wine education and training.
Maintain an eye for details.
Keep self at a level of high energy and engagement.
Maintain and grow an enthusiasm for the wine program.
Negotiating prices with vendors.
Organizing wine tasting events.
Complying with health and safety regulations.
The Sommelier will be required to execute other duties not listed above as assigned by the General Manager and Food & Beverage Department.
Compensation $65,000/ annual salary Commission Structure:

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
