SkySkopes SkySkopes Camarillo, CA Camarillo, CA Full-time Full-time From $40 an hour From $40 an hour 2 days ago 2 days ago 2 days ago UAV Distribution Inspector/Visual Observer SkySkopes is looking for UAV Electrical Overhead Inspector and Visual Observer who is responsible for identifying potential defects and auditing the overhead distribution poles using a proprietary application to log the observed field conditions.
This person will also support the unmanned pilot (PIC) and act as a visual observer (VO) to ensure safe flight operations can be maintained.
The Inspector/VO will align with SkySkopes innovative, professional and ethical mentality.
The Inspector/VO will report to the Inspector/UAV field supervisor.
Responsibilities and Duties:
? Work within a crew of (2) individuals to collect field data of utility scale OH distribution assets.
? Become proficient in the technology and applications used in the field.
? Support PIC in set up and tear down of take-off and landing sites.
? Provides input for training materials to ensure process is efficient across all crews.
? Travels to jobsites for extended periods of time.
? Organize field materials and equipment as necessary.
? Able to perform desired inspection and audits efficiently.
? Participate in team calls and training as needed.
(remote or in-person).
? Completes inspections thoroughly and with high level of accuracy.
? Contributes to new policies and procedures related to the position and department.
? Works with PIC, Team Leads and Director of Operations to improve real time communication and working knowledge.
? Able to recognizes and protect sensitive information during.
? Ability to effectively communicate to customers and the general public about the operation.
? Ensure safety standards are followed including the use of all required PPE.

Required Skills/Abilities:
? A Minimum of 2 years' experience in utility scale asset inspections (Journeyman certificate or Qualified Electrical Worker preferred) (IBEW Local 47 a plus) ? Proficient with basic computing software (Office 365, MS Teams, able to transfer and download files.
) ? Excellent technical verbal and written communication skills.
? Ability to prioritize tasks and look for efficiencies.
? Ability to use appropriate safety equipment when working on site.
? Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
? Remote Pilot (sUAV) experience (Desired) ? 100% travel possible Education and
Experience:
? High School Diploma or equivalent ? (QEW) Qualified electrical worked is preferred ? Experience as a Certified Electrical Journeyman a plus ? Experience in construction and maintenance of overhead electrical distribution systems a plus ? Experience in inspections of overhead Distribution assets (In the California market a plus) ? Current 107 Certificate (Or ability to gain a Part 107 CERT) ? Valid Driver's license and clean driving record ? Ability to pass background and drug screen Physical Requirements:
? Prolonged periods of standing in outdoor environments ? Ability to communicate with others in an effective manner ? Ability to record, retain, and recall operational details ? Ability to walk over various terrain to complete missions ? Ability to work long periods including evenings and weekends ? Able to visually track a UAV unassisted (corrective lenses acceptable) ? Able to kneel, crouch, and walk on uneven terrain ? Being outdoors in a variety of weather conditions ? Ability to maintain focus and situational awareness ? Ability to operate a vehicle in difficulty terrain and environments safely ? Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
