How you will make an impact:
The Safety & WC Specialist is an integral part of the Human Resources Department assisting to execute the organization's overall risk and safety strategy as a collaborative partner to the organization.
This individual provides professional safety expertise and safety program support; safety training; incident and accident investigations; fleet safety; and OSHA regulatory and other compliance.
This role will also support Human Resources management activities in various divisions throughout the organization while maintaining confidentiality regarding Human Resources related issues.
Coordinate and administer the Hazardous Materials and Business Continuity Plan, working with the Safety Officer and the Safety Committee and other leaders and departments.
Coordinate Emergency Response Plan, including drills, and other departments to maintain emergency processes for the organization.
Ensure timely reporting/processing of workers' compensation claims.
Communicate regularly with WC insurance contacts regarding program administration and claims management, ensuring prompt and aggressive claims management and follow through.
Maintain electronic injury log, tracking of light duty days, lost time days, injury details and communication with employees and leadership.
The skills and experience you'll need:
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience in manufacturing/warehouse environment.

years of experience in Human Resources field or Safety experience required.
Experience with Captive programs preferred, but not required.
OSHA certification preferred in general or manufacturing industry.
Strong leadership and organizational skills including time management.
Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate clearly in English and Spanish and with a keen sense of discretion and confidentiality.

US BASE PAY SCALE $69,400 - $88,900The base pay scale for this role is what Meissner reasonably expects to pay for the position although actual pay may vary from this scale depending on an applicant's experience.
